The Dereje Gebre Project was founded four years ago by Referee Dereje Gebre, a five-time winner of the Ethiopian Best Referee Award. With multiple diplomas and professional certifications, Dereje Gebre stands as one of the first individuals in Ethiopia to receive a Women’s Training License, reflecting his commitment to inclusivity and football development.

Since its establishment, the project has achieved remarkable success—winning over seven trophies in just four years. It has become a platform for nurturing and developing young football talent, with more than 80 players actively participating. Impressively, four players from the project have gone on to represent the Ethiopian National Team, a testament to its high training standards and strong football culture.
